Do controversy and business mix? Here’s my stance, take it or leave it ūüėČ

I’ve heard it before: don’t mix business with religion or politics or anything controversial. ¬†But I don’t agree. ¬†People put controversy on certain subjects because they have strong beliefs about them and have a hard time accepting differing opinions.

Honestly? I don’t really care. ¬†I mix business with family because I’m a work at home mom and that’s my thing. ¬†I frequently post about controversial topics that are important to me and that’s not going to change just because I’m a business owner. ¬†Quite the opposite, actually. ¬†When people choose to do business with me, it should be because what I’m offering them is of value and because of how I do business. ¬†If they choose to go elsewhere because I won’t keep my passions and concerns quiet, too bad so sad, their loss. ¬†I’m not going to dilute myself or hide so that people buy from me. ¬†That’s not who I am or what I’m about.

God brought me to and through situations that LED me to my business, and then He BLESSED my business, so why on earth would I keep Him OUT of it? To avoid offending somebody with differing beliefs? Nope. ¬†Sorry. ¬†Not happening. ¬†He is the reason I’m here, the reason I’ve come this far, and the reason I’m able to be flexible with my work.

So, before I get super repetitive and jump up on my soap box here, I’ll leave you with this.

Be YOURSELF. ¬†Let YOU shine through all that you do. ¬†Period. ¬†You won’t be for everybody and you don’t WANT or NEED to be. ¬†Don’t ever sacrifice a part of yourself for the sake of money.
