Today I want to talk to you about the word NO and what it means for your business.
About 7 years ago, I was this scared little puppy in the corner that didn’t want to talk to anybody I knew about my business because hearing the word “NO” paralyzed me and and discouraged me and invoked these nasty thoughts in my head that I wasn’t good enough, I was screwing up, I’d never make it in this business, nobody wanted to buy from ME, yada yada yada.
Unfortunately, that is a very normal reality for most people who get involved in Direct Sales.
But here’s the thing… the reason it hurts so bad to hear the word NO is because we have attached ourselves to the outcome & taken the rejection personally. We want so badly for everybody that we talk to to say YES and join us because it’s an awesome business with awesome products or services that EVERYBODY can use and they’d be crazy not to join, right?
Truth is, if you’re going to survive Direct Sales (or sales of any kind, honestly), you can’t be concerned with the outcome of each approach and you HAVE to be willing to hear NO more than yes and learn to not take it personally.
